Residents dragged out a mysterious gold-coloured chariot that washed ashore at the Sunnapalli Sea Harbour in Andhra Pradesh’s Srikakulam amid turbulence due to Cyclone Asani on Tuesday.
The sub-inspector (SI) of Naupada in the Srikakulam district said, "It might have come from another country. We have informed the intelligence and higher officials."
Meanwhile, Cyclone Asani moved close to the Andhra Pradesh coast on Wednesday morning though the severe cyclonic storm weakened into a cyclonic storm.
Andhra Pradesh issued a 'red' warning for the coast. Nine teams of both SDRF and NDRF have been deployed for relief operations.
The cyclone triggered heavy rains in several places across the state. The capital city of Visakhapatnam received heavy rains as the storm approached the Andhra coast.
Officials suspect the chariot might have washed away from shores of Thailand, Japan or Malaysia.
The structure of the chariot is similar to the Wayo style architecture of Japan. It has inscriptions in foreign language dated 16-01-22.
This mysterious golden chariot compelled people to gather in scores to witness this miracle. Taking charge of the situation, the marine police took custody of this temple chariot.
